Silk spun yarn

Spun silk yarn is made from "kibiso," a by-product removed from the cocoon before the correct thread end is drawn out, and "bis," the remaining cocoons after the raw silk has been harvested. Spun silk yarn with a high proportion of "kibiso" is considered to be of the highest quality. "Kibiso" is the first thread produced by the silkworm (from the outermost part of the cocoon) and is superior in fineness, fiber shape, and cleanliness compared to the thread produced later (from the inner part of the cocoon).
