About Knitting Yarn - Spun Silk
Spun Silk Yarn
Spun silk yarn is made from by-products such as kibiso, which is removed from the cocoon before the correct thread end is drawn out, and bis, the remaining cocoons after the raw silk has been harvested. Spun silk yarn with a high proportion of kibiso is considered to be of the highest quality. Kibiso is the first thread produced by the silkworm (from the outermost part of the cocoon) and is superior in fineness, fiber shape, and cleanliness compared to the threads produced later (from the inner part of the cocoon).
Fabric texture
Compared to cotton, spun silk has a glossy and smooth texture, making it soft and comfortable against the skin.
